REQUALIFICATION/RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
-LCDCS, LCDP, CDP, CIT, PREVENTION SPECIALISTS, SAC, RCS
-Requalification/Recertification is every two (2) years. All counselors are required to submit 40 clock
hours of approved continuing education every two years with a minimum of thirty (30) hours substance
abuse specific. 6 hrs. Best Practice is required (i.e., Methadone Training, Co-occurring Disorders, Hep
C & HIV, PTSD, Domestic Violence, New Drugs, Prescription Drugs, Compulsive Gambling, CSAP
Model Programming, Environmental Strategies and Suicide Assessment
) All documentation is due for submission sixty (60) days prior to qualification expiration.
-Licensed/Certified counselors must obtain 40 clock hours every two years in order to be eligible for
relicensure/recertification It is strongly recommended, but not required, that counselors obtain twenty
clock hours per year. Please note: LCDCS and RCS individuals must submit 10 hours MANDATORY
Clinical Supervisor Specific training for requalification.
-Of these 40 clock hours, a minimum of 30 shall be in Catagory I (Substance Abuse Specific), Source
A/B/C/D/E
-Up to 10 clock hours, which are not Substance Abuse Specific, may be included under Catagory II.

CCJP RECERTIFICATION:
-Recertification is every tow (2) years. All CCJP professionals must document the following:
-15 hours – Category I - Substance Abuse Specific training, Source A/B/C/D/E
-15 hours – Category II – Criminal Justice Specific
-10 Hours related training
PLEASE NOTE: For the first CCJP recertification process, LCDP/LCDCS individuals must submit
completion of “12 hours Criminogenic Risk Factors/What Works Model” and Criminal Justice
Professionals must submit “12 hours Confidentiality of Alcohol & Drug Records, 42 CFR, Part 2”.
