
IMPORTANT UPDATE As of February 7, 2007, the RIBCCDP unanimously passed a motion that will reduce the recertification fees for those individuals that carry more than one RIBCCDP credential. The recertification fee for CIT, CDP, SAC, CPS, ACPS, CPSS, CCJP is $215.00 The requalification fee for LCDP/LCDCS is $215.00 plus MHRH $50 relicensing fee. If you hold any additional credentials with the RIBCCDP, the fee to recertify the additional credential will be $125.00 updated 2/9/2007 _________________________________________________________________ NEW EXAMINATION PROCESS FOR LCDP'S STARTING JUNE 13, 2008 As of June 13, 2008, the ICRC/AODA will no longer require the Oral Examination & Case Presentation Method. The ICRC/AODA has developed a NEW written examination that will measure BOTH knowledge and skill of a counselor. In order for the RIBCCDP to be in compliance with ICRC/AODA standards, the RIBCCDP will no longer require the Oral examination as of June 13, 2008. Any applicant that has successfully passed the written exam and is waiting to sit for the Oral examination may choose from the following options: 1) Successfully pass the Oral examination by June 13, 2008; or 2) Sit for the June 14, 2008 NEW written examination. No oral examination will be required. posted 2/18/2008 ________________________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: Licensed Chemical Dependency Professionals & Licensed Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisors While all Licenses expire on October 1, 2008, LCDP's and LCDCS's have an individual specific deadline dates in which they need to submit required continuing education. Once your Requalification documentation has been approved, you will be notified and will receive your New License automatically in October 2008, October 2010, etc. Prior to licensing, ACDP II's, ACDP's and CDCS's had expiration dates for their certification. All continuing education needed to be submitted sixty (60) days prior to that expiration date. We continue to use these dates for submission of CEU's or requalification of your License. The RIBCCDP will send out notices to Professionals three (3) months prior to their deadline date. Included with this notification will be a Requalification Manual. Included in your Requalification fee is your Relicensing fee. *You will NOT be required to pay any additional fees for your New License. If you do not submit your continuing education by the deadline date, you will be notified that your License is INACTIVE and will not be activated until you submit the required continuing education and fees. ALL Licensed and Certified individuals may view their deadline for submission of CEU's by clicking here. *For each FIRST requalification, professionals will have to pay an additional one time fee of $50 in September of 2008. When an individual initially applies for Licensure they pay a $50 fee for their license. The $50 relicensure fee is NOT included in the inititial application fee. Posted 2/2/2007 ___________________________________________________________________ COUNSELOR IN TRAINING As of January 1, 2008 the RIBCCDP will change the name of Counselor In Training (CIT) to Provisional Certified Chemical Dependency Professional. All requirements will remain the same except this will become a TIME-LIMITED certification. All PCCDP's must upgrade to Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (LCDP) within five (5)years after being awarded initial certification. |
